Campaigns, Lobbying, and Government Relations

A large part of our students’ union resources are focused on campaign initiatives. This includes campaigns focusing on issues such as right to education, anti-war, sustainability and the environment, and general campus-specific campaigns that affect our members.

As a student advocacy and lobby group, we work to ensure that there is active student participation and representation in all levels of our governance structures. In addition, we take pride in the great number of campaign initiatives that we work on with our community coalition partners, including the Canadian Federation of Students and the Ryerson Students’ Union. With a united voice students can effectively lobbying for real change.

Campaigns are a great way to get involved with your students' union. CESAR works on numerous issues affecting students throughout the year. Some ongoing campaigns for 2011/2012 include:

  • Child Care
  • Keep Gould Street Closed
  • Right to Education
  • Students for Sustainability
  • Bottle Water Free Campus
  • Tuition fee reimburstment for CE students wishing to drop a course
  • Transfer credits
  • Clean Classrooms
Join the CESAR listserv to get frequent updates on how to get involved and participate in any of our campaign.
